I have a list of about 13 verses that I have written down that I look at from time to time. I have changed the list from time to time also. These verses are meant to inspire and encourage me and to renew my thinking. My verses are listed below. What are your verses and why?

"Do nothing form selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself, do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others." Phil 2:3-4

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us. In all wisdom and insight." Eph 1:7-8

"For we are His workmanship; created in Christ Jesus for good works whcih God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Eph 2:10

"Ask and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone whoh asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened." Matthew 7:7-8

"Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on the earth." Col 3:2

Colossians 3:12-17
12*Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves*with compassion, kindness, humility,*gentleness and patience.*13*Bear with each other*and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.*14*And over all these virtues put on love,*which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15*Let the peace of Christ*rule in your hearts, since as members of one body*you were called to peace.*And be thankful.*16*Let the message of Christ*dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom*through psalms,*hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.*17*And whatever you do,whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks*to God the Father through him.

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:24-32

So then, have your minds ready for action. Keep alert and set your hope completely on the blessing which will be given to you when Jesus Christ is revealed. Be obedient to God, and do not allow your lives to be shaped by those desires you had when you were still ignorant. Instead, be holy in all that you do, just as God who called you is holy. The scripture says, "Be holy because I am holy." You call him Father when you pray to God, who judges all people by the same standard, according to what each one has done; so then, spend the rest of your lives here on earth in reverence for him. For you know what was paid to set you free from the worthless manner of life handed down by your ancestors. It was not something that can be destroyed, such as silver or gold; it was the costly sacrifice of Christ, who was like a lamb without defect or flaw. He had been chosen by God before the creation of the world and was revealed in these last days for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from death and gave him glory; and so your faith and hope are fixed on God. Now that by your obedience to the truth you have purified yourselves and have come to have a sincere love for other believers, love one another earnestly with all your heart. For through the living and eternal word of God you have been born again as the children of a parent who is immortal, not mortal. As the scripture says, "All human beings are like grass, and all their glory is like wild flowers. The grass withers, and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord remains forever." This word is the Good News that was proclaimed to you.

My Confirmation verse: John 15:5 English Standard Version (ESV)
5*I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

My current favorite verses are from the First Epistle of St. Peter: 1 Peter 3:10-12 English Standard Version (ESV)
10*For
“Whoever desires to love life
****and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
****and his lips from speaking deceit;
11*
let him turn away from evil and do good;
****let him seek peace and pursue it.
12*
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
****and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

I have always been fond of this Jeremiah verse which is 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

The core of what it means to be saved by grace.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

I thought I pressed Christian. That's an oddity. I use Tapatalk so perhaps the info didn't transfer. Hmmm...
Tapatalk won't let me change that. Perhaps the site administration has some advice.

I like 1Th5:19-21 and its push for balance, not quenching the Spirit but testing things rather than blindly accepting or blindly rejecting.

1Jn 4:4 is always encouraging.

Eze 37 shows that God can always turn things around however bleak the situation may look.

In the recent past God brought me through deep, deep grief. The books of Job and Habakkuk became dear companions. In chapter 3 of Habakkuk I find these words.

Habakkuk 3:17-18
Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
