And then we have the sermons about the Return that Pedrito was exposed to when he was haunting “Evangelical” circles.

The ones based on:

Matthew 24:30: “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Mark 13:26: “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Luke 21:27: “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

==============================================================================================

The picture consistently painted was everybody in the world pointing upwards and saying, "There He is!"

(It didn't seem to occur to the preachers that that meant everybody on the spherical surface of the planet would be pointing towards outer space in different directions.

Nor did that occur to the sheeple in the pews, who sagely nodded their assent.)

==============================================================================================

It must be such a stress-free existence, not having to employ reality checks on what one preaches or what one hears.

Unfortunately, Pedrito has always found the degree of conformance required to attain that state of Nirvana bliss, to be personally distressing.

(That lack of reality checking applies not only to the obvious example above. Nor only to “Evangelicals”. Each denomination could point to valid examples in the others. But would anyone be willing to take note? If and when that was done?)

There was a fire ball above Holland tonight that everyone could see. Signs in the heavens. Tonight our first revival meeting.

If we are in the last church age could it be a sign that the time is soon?

I actually think our time is short in all seriousness. Jesus spoke of wars and rumors of wars and earthquakes and disasters and wonders happening all around us and people's love growing cold and their being an apostacy of the church. If we aren't in that time, I would hate to think what it would have to look like. Seems like we are there to me.

The article seemed to say that this was simply the beginning of the end, so you may be able to squeeze out a little more value in that bed.

I still wish I'd known there was only going to be three years left, before choosing a bed that should last me 10-15 years.

How do we know you still exist? You might be a bot, posting after the whole of your part of the world has been destroyed by swarms of fiery locusts or something.

No point replying, I'm taking this as my cue to RUN TO THE HILLS!!!!!!!

On second thoughts, maybe I'll stay here. There's no air conditioning in the mountains, and the bugs are pretty bad today.

almost half of Saturday has passed here in cold & rainy Perth and still no signs that the end is nigh nor any sign of the phantom planet that is allegedly the harbinger of doom.

... says the bot, programmed to lull us into a false sense of security ...

I'm going to hide under my nice new bed instead of sleeping in it. Maybe that will protect me.

It looks like Pedrito missed it.

It’s after midnight here now. So it’s Sunday already.

He knew he shouldn’t have taken that nap yesterday arvo.

(Check dictionary.com if you don't know what arvo means.)

Perth in Australia. Saturday is over now. It's Sunday and has been for 45 minutes. Still no phantom planet and no end of the world.

HOLY CRAP! Good night, it's 1:06 pm Saturday afternoon here in Manassas, Virginia. That time switch is just too much to take, sometimes. I doubt that the Second Coming is going to happen right yet, though. I think that when everybody's saying " all is secure" and that the world will just go on forever, then will be the time the Lord steps in. Frankly, I think all this end of the world jazz is pushing the Second Coming back.
