hotrhymez and I discussed this in another thread.

What kind of cell phone do you have and how long can you go without charging the battery?

I woke up with a full charge and after I got back from the grocery store it was down to 62%. The battery is a year old. The last one did the same thing, it wouldn't hold a charge. I just bought a new one on Amazon but the newest reviews are saying that the replacement batteries are doing the same thing.

Thanks, this is a good thread idea...

my new battery for my s3 is working fine so far, and my phone is 5 years old i think. It charges faster than before..it takes only around 2 hours to charge and before it took like 5-6 hours..

I did get an error message the other day saying something like "the data partition is corrupted" or something like that..no idea what that means..i restarted my phone and never got it again..dunno what that was about.

My battery usually lasts abt 2 days before recharging but I don't use much data on it. My phone wouldn't start up one time and at the phone mart they just took the battery out and set it back in. They said to make sure that didn't happen I should reboot it every once in awhile.

I have a personal phone and a work phone. My personal phone has a lot of apps on it for listening to sermons and music and that tends to drain the battery to where it needs to be charged by late afternoon. My work phone can go two days without a charge because all I do is calls and email from it

Sounds good to me at least you get the satisfaction of actually slamming the phone down to disconnect... lol

Mine used to last 3 days if I only used it lightly. Then it started acting up and trashing its battery until I got sick of it and started tinkering to see what might be wrong. In the end I disabled the Google app and found that it stopped acting up, lasted a whole day on 25% of the battery (again, assuming only light use) and became far more responsive.

It's pretty lame that the Google app should cause such disruption to the Android system but there ya go, next time I get a phone chances are the first thing I'll do is disable the Google app.

I had one much like that in 1987, except it hung on the wall. It was quite satisfying to put the phone down hard...

In Australia they disappeared before 1987 though people with old phones from the 1970s and earlier might have had pulse dialing rotor phones.

Facebook, even though I turned off notifications, runs in the background. I don't want it constantly running and thought I had all the settings adjusted. But it still runs in the background. So Facebook and Messenger are running in the background and I can't stop it from happening. Even a force stop doesn't stop them.

I like to have it when I travel. It's easier to post photos from my phone right from the app.
