I don't have such event to report for wallet/phone/keys, but can say I accidentally left my eyeglasses on the bottom of Lake Huron back in the 1970s. Lesson: Don't plunge into the water while wearing glasses, unless perhaps they are strapped to your head.
But my wife has a good one. She left her phone on the car roof and headed out. Then the phone was lost. We finally realized she had driven off with it on top of the car. We found it on the side of the on ramp to the freeway, about one mile out from our house. It still worked!
