I went down the street and spent the night at an elderly lady's house. This was so someone was there if she needed help during the night. She was nearly blind and heard of hearing. I basically got paid for sleeping. My sister and I split the week.
I was a waitress at a very busy rest stop restaurant on a major highway. One time a bus load of 25 people came into the restaurant. Lucky me got picked to be their waitress. The people were rude and complaining no matter how fast I was bringing out their orders. After they ate and paid the check, I was left $1 tip. The owner yelled and screamed at us all the time to speed up bringing food to the customers. The problem wasn't with us (the waitresses), it was with the cooks who were slow as molasses and constantly screwed up orders. I lasted a week and the total amount of money I made for that week (8 hour shift/5 days) was $130.00.
Aside from a paper route, my first job was a busboy and I lasted half a day. So not sure that counts. First job that I actually stuck with and worked for a long time was a gasoline station pump jockey.
