Very true,
@Lamb! Sin is self-centeredness that often comes out in our actions from our sinful natures.
So our soul and our spirit are they ones fighting inside us for, who gets to control the flesh. Will we be led by our spirit or will we let our soul tell our flesh what to do?
This reminds me of the Cherokee Proverb. Two wolves fighting within us, which one wins?
Well the one you feed of course.
How did Jesus put it? Man does not live by bread alone but by the word of God. There is our food for our spirit! I think many Christians do not know this so they'll make the decision themself in their soul. Yes I will have another slice of pizza, I can steal this and get away with it, And on top of that, they wont read their bible. so the bad wolf will win.
It's like, our spirit and soul fight for control of the flesh, and our mind is there also and so is our conscience and our heart. So the spirit says, do this, dont steal it. And in our mind through our heart we reject what the spirit and conscience says and let our soul get to win and dictate the actions of the flesh. Every time we ignore the spirit or our conscience, it hardens our heart somewhat. Do it long enough and pretty soon you can't hear your conscience any more. And people get used to making their own decisions like that and it feels natural and normal to them. So they may think that they have faith and are saved, they normally do not be led by the spirit, so they have a false faith, a false hope.
Our spirit which is and only can be received through YahuShua HaMashach. For He alone is The Baptism, the very water of Life, by which all must be cleansed and receive their Salvation. Our part is done by the washing of the water of the Word ahich feeds our spirit and repairs soulish damage within our spirit and heart.
If one immerses them self in the word of God and forces the soul to be subject to our spirit by simply saying no when the soul wants o watch some entertainment or whatever and you choose to read the word instead. Every day. We can not read the word of God every day and not be affected by it. One day you realize, hey I reacted differently to that situation that I have always reacted differently to. I, am changing.
