If you were in charge of planning the funeral for a loved one and they requested a non-Christian funeral, what would you do?

Unless it was a request for a different religious practice to be carried out I would honor their request.

And if it was for a different religious practice than Christian I would turn it over to a member of that religion to perform.

Just a personal thing, but I never go against a dying wish, whether written or spoken, and I never dispute one in my favor.

A funeral is for the living, the dead know nothing and are unaware of what transpires at all.

I think I'm with Frankj on this one. If someone wanted an Islamic funeral I'd point them towards a mosque. If someone wanted a funeral that celebrated the life of the deceased but didn't mention God I don't see why their wishes shouldn't be honored.

Whatever my views on God and Jesus might be it seems pointless to plan a funeral celebrating them if the deceased was an atheist.
