I am watching Wartime Farm on Youtube. It is interesting to me because my mum lived in England during the war, she was a girl but grew into her teens before the war was over and did some service in the war time industries. It is fascinating. They went through many hardships yet remained industrious and happy.

Did your mom feel safe living on a farm during the war? As if it was far away?

Even today sometimes people refer to the Blitz spirit.

My mum lived in the Lake District and that is where the farm was. It was mostly safe but not always. On one occasion a German pilot attempted to machine gun my mum and her mother in their back yard. He missed. But he tried. War is a horrible thing.

UK? I thought they were safe. They were the rescuers. Our queen fled to England to be safe.

I think safety during the war in Europe was a relative commodity. Britian was safer than the mainland of Europe, but we did get repeatedly bombed and there was a spell when an invasion was expected, but Hitler got distracted by Russia.
