What 'stories'? (Matt. 13) are parables. Concerning (Matt. 5-7) those are not stories but laws of the future Kingdom.

Concerning (John 10), what stories?

Concerning (Is. 5-6), where is 'Jesus' speaking?

Concerning (Ps. 78), who is the speaker? And it is not a 'story'. It is a a record of Israel's history of unbelief.

Concerning (Dan. 2), who is the speaker? These are not stories. They are prophecies, and their interpretation.

Concerning (Rom. 16), what stories? And, these are from Paul.

Re: Why does Jesus tell stories?

Jesus was a prophet (Deut 18:15-18 & Heb 1:1-2). The stories he told were
because he was required to tell them, viz: Jesus was micro-managed.

John 3:34 . . For he is sent by God; he speaks God's words, for God's spirit is
upon him without measure or limit.

John 8:26 . .He that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which
I have heard of Him.

John 8:28 . . I do nothing on my own initiative, but I speak these things as the
Father taught me.

John 12:49 . . I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, He
gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

John 14:24 . .The word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent
me.

Seeing as dishonesty is impossible for God (Num 23:19, John 17:17, Titus 1:2)
then I think we may safely assume that the stories He instructed Jesus to tell were
incidents and/or events taken from real life. Any other position insinuates that God
is a person of marginal integrity, capable of tale-spinning, and cannot be trusted to
always tell the truth.

They didn't have TV what else did people do? 🤣 Storytelling was the way people were entertained, along side dancing and music. Storytelling, however, most common form. He is the best storyteller. He always used examples from everyday life. Many of our sayings come from His allegories and metaphors.
