I'm not sure if I asked this before? I wanted more music for my iPod so that I could have fresh songs when I do my workouts and I went to a Top 40 Youtube channel and realized that I really don't like today's music!! It's just blah.

So which decade of music do you prefer? I'm an 80s girl but I like the 90s as well!

I liked the 80s and the early 90s. For me it was some time around the late 90s that it seemed most of the talent disappeared from music and it became little more than manufactured bands thrust out of nowhere onto a stage. I prefer the idea of a band forming, jamming in someone's garage, maybe playing the local pubs in exchange for pocket money or a couple of cases of beer, and then the ones who succeeded slowly growing until they became huge.

I look at someone like Elton John and, even though I'm not a fan of his music, I can't deny the talent there. I stopped following the music scene years ago because I got to the point it all looked manufactured with little talent and less passion.

I think it very much depends on what your use to. I grew up in the 70's and 80's, but I think the 70's is far better.

90s Music for me was the best.
All of my favorite artist peaked in the 90s... but I absolutely love old blues. Rock n roll was born in the south on the slave plantations. To pass the time, slaves gathered up spirit by humming along to songs they made up off the tops of their heads and through tradition and reputation they added words to them. The beat was particularly kept while banging on the railroads in unison (in community prison slave work)

Robert Johnson for example created the first bluesy slide out of 3 nails, some string, and a broken bottle neck all on the side of a slave owners house. (Crossroads and red hot are covers of him)
Another, Leadbelly was released from prison when the governor asked him to record his music to the library of congress (free domain) and his music gained popular success as many 50s 60s and 70s + artist re translated his songs freely.
His songs include:
Goodnight Irene
Black Betty (ccr)
Midnight special (ccr)
House of the rising sun (the animals)
Where did you sleep last night (nirvana)
On a monday (cash)

I love my blues lol

oh man this is a tough question..I like a lot of hip hop and rock/metal from the 90s..and some old tunes from the 60s and 70s..every decade has great music and not-so-great music IMO..though right now I would probably go with 90s.

I think the 60s had great music but also am a fan of the 80s. I listen to music in my car that is current pop and it's not so bad to me. There is some out now I definitely don't like, too.

80's were my preferred era. I listened to a bit of everything from the heaviest metal (some of it was pretty scary) to Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears, B-52's... I also loved 70's progressive bands - King Crimson, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Yes, Genesis
Pretty varied.

The 80s produced more awesome music than any other era. The 70s is a close second. The 90s gave birth to some decent music.

I don’t much care for new music. It all sounds the same.

Agree music these days are rehashed and watered down versions of what was music, its sad its almost seems like the sound of dead and dying genres gasping for air in its final breath... wow I got a little poetically dark there lol I just really cant stand todays music, i have my radio tuned strictly to talk local houston news radio. i made the decision to stop listening to music stations due to one song called "medicate" where they glorify popping pills and sobbing and singing "why does God hate me" by a rock band named "theory of a dead man" pathetic degenerate garbage music!
The devil is truly conspiring to push his liberal degenerate agenda on to the now desensitized youths of America and the kids are eating it up. I believe we are getting close... i apologise for getting so serious but we can all agree that todays music is tasteless in every way possible.
