Where was Jesus born?

There is some speculation about where exactly Jesus was born. No room at the inn...does that mean inner room? Was he really laid in a manger?

That's what the Bible says took place, why is there any reason to doubt it?

Considering the circumstances of those born in Bethlehem returning to it to register in the census, it should not be a major surprise to have the inn full since Bethlehem was unlikely to be a major center with need to accommodate a large number of travelers at the same time.

That's the way I see it, others may see it differently.
