Most of the time I let them because I don't want the confrontation. If I see them start walking toward my line to get in front, then I'll point out the back of the line to them before they reach me and hopefully others will do the same.

Most people are nice here in Australia so I’ve never had those issues, it almost got bad during the pandemic here though.
