I worked at a Summer camp as a counselor. When camp was over I would babysit on the weekends.

I babysat for most of my teenaged years making $1 an hour. I was really taken advantage of and I'd work for 12 hours and make $12 babysitting for 2 children, one of those was in diapers. My mom told me I couldn't say no to the couple because they were poor. Well, so was I.

In my senior year of high school, that family moved away, and I got a job at a department store and made minimum wage which was either $2.75 or a little over $3 an hour. I can't remember. I finally felt rich.

In '66 (still in high school) part time boxboy at Safeway and at 19 (1968-69) I worked weekends as a Veterinarian assistant, while at college.
