What influences your understanding in God's Word, your fleshy mind, or your spirit?
Do you most often apply a fleshy type of Salvation to that subject in The Word of God?

Those are the only... two choices we have when it comes to understanding in God's Word. Either we understand by our carnal mind, which will lead to many errors, or by our spirit with The Holy Spirit Comforter teaching us God's Truth that we can rely totally upon.
Lord Jesus told those Jews who believed on Him, that if they continued in His Word, they would be His disciples, and they would know the Truth, and the Truth shall make them free (John 8:31-32). How did Lord Jesus mean the Truth shall make them free? How does that work?
Lord Jesus wasn't referring to physical freedom with that, although that might be easy to think that. He was referring to spiritual freedom, understanding about this world, God's creation, and even into the world to come. In other words, why focus just on this menial short-lived life in the flesh when God's Word reveals a much wider scope of living with our Heavenly Father and His Son in Eternity? Apostle Peter even showed in 2 Peter 3 that our focus should not be on today's menial world, but on the world to come with God's new heavens and a new earth. In other words, widen our focus on what Christ's Salvation really is about in the world to come, and not as some solution for this present world which is soon to pass away.
In this world, by what Lord Jesus did upon His cross, He freed us from the bondage of sin, (for those who heed Him), but our flesh bodies are still today in a type of physical bondage to this present world. Our spirit in Christ though is no longer in bondage to this world, and that is the part Lord Jesus was pointing to which the Truth shall make one free by continuing in His Word. How's that?
The Word of God reveals to those of Faith the differences between God's Plan of Salvation for the world to come and the shortcomings of this present temporary world of flesh which is preserved unto destruction on the day of Christ's future coming on the "day of the Lord." Thus we are not to think that today in this present world that we are freed from the trials and tribulations common to this present world. We are to endure this world of today, all the way to the end of it.
So if you want to know how God's Truth will make you free, think about His Word by your spirit, praying for The Holy Spirit to help you. And He will help you, IF... you continue in HIS WORD, and not in man's carnal fleshy thinking.
