An article on page two of our local newspaper today about an event in Sydney Australia yesterday (Monday, April 15). Now, in the US, most very left leaning newspapers (and that's 99% of them) will not report something that could be understood as anti-Black people or anti-Islamic or anti-liberalism so sometimes stories are OBVIOUSLY are missing things. And that might be the situation here, our liberal press just leaving out things from the story.
The article says that "hundreds" gathered outside an Orthodox Church in Sydney, rioting with rocks, etc. Invading some neighboring houses to get things they could throw in the riot. The REASON for all this is never given. It says it took over 100 Sydney police several hours to contain the situation. In the midst of this, a teen broke into the church where a worship service was taking place (on a Monday?) during the riot and stabbed a priest and a bishop. It took hours for the police to rescue the two, but the wounds are not life-threatening. They eventually were taken to a hospital and are in good condition.
WEIRD.
Who were these protesters? The fact that the news here didn't mention that is, well... suspicious.
What were they protesting? Why, I wonder, wouldn't the paper say?
Why did it take over 100 police several hours to contain the situation?
Why were the Christians holding a worship service.... on a Monday... with a riot going on outside?
Why was the priest and bishop targeted?
Why did it take hours to get the two clergymen to the hospital?
Perhaps someone from Australia knows. Unless the press there is as it is here.
I OFTEN read articles in our local liberal rag.... and am left with questions, questions created by the news obviously not telling us some things. The same newspapers that decry that faith in them and readership of them continues to decline, they can't understand why.
