But it is false. We just aren't. Now if what is meant by "under the law" - to be treated with unbiased fairness, I agree.

No doubt recent thread(s) have been closed presumably because of either lack of knowledge (nescience) or deliberate lack of knowledge (ignorance) - and probably more the latter because Americans (by and large) are heavily influenced by various entertainment to make them think this way - and they are afraid to look into this. It's something I personally avoided also for many years, because it's just one of those unpopular, laced with controversial opinions, topics.

Truth doesn't fear investigation. But truth can be very political and controversial.

Just watch it, and tell me where the untruths are:

It is hard to say 'created equal' means by 'under the law' when negros were not equal under the law.

As I have said, you cannot discuss 'race' in America unless you agree with America that all are equal. That is the America of 1865, which led to 1950's and 60's.

America doesn't care about any 'facts'. She will live and die for 'diversity'. She has lived for it, and is now dying for it.

My opinion.

As much as we've traded written hostilities, it is refreshing to see someone openly endorse positions that would in most circles be contentious.

Not that I have the precise history to know or agree with exactly what you've said here.

Insofar as "equality" goes, that is basically the point of the video. No one is going to get upset if, for instance, a person of European descent expresses any of the following:

That East Asians have greater cognitive abilities in certain areas (for example, some specific sciences such as robotics) over all the other races, including the white race.

That men of African descent literally dominate certain areas of sports.

Obviously these are broad generalizations that don't apply to all. I'm sure there are some less-than-apt Asians or Africans in the areas considered their strengths, or some that exceed in areas that are atypical.

That being said, generalizations do have merit. The human races are not all the same and broadly exhibit certain traits over each other.

I had to edit my post #(2) where I said 'adversity'. I meant 'diversity'.

I agree, the generalizations have merit. The races are not equal. Each race will always bear its God given traits. Man can make laws that contradict these traits, as though they don't or shouldn't exist. But man cannot change what God has put in motion. And America is living proof.

Yes, this is a 'contentious' subject. Due in part because all of us know a person of a different race who we see as equal to ourselves in every way and who we have an affection for. Thus we are prone to apply all we see in that person to the race as a whole.

I read of an incident, which I don't have the quote at hand, so I am paraphrasing. It was in an Islamic country where Jews were allowed certain rights. But the laws changed and the Jews were to be exiled out of the country. This Jewish man had an Arab friend that he met with often to discuss many things. Once he heard of the law, he met with his Arab friend. The Jewish man was visibly distraught. The Arab asked him what was the matter? And he told him how he and the Jews were being exiled out of the country. The Arab looked at him and said, 'as a friend, I am sad to hear it. But as an Arab, I am glad to hear it'.

That Arab man knew to make the important distinction. But that was over there. Here in America, it becomes very complex. One must deal with God, America's founding, Christianity, in order to provide some sort of an answer.

Equality. When did this become an issue, a cause throughout history?

Due to much of our discussions lately on this forum my interest in the French Revolution was peaked. And lo and behold, I found that 'equality' was at the very center of those writers of the 'enlightenment' era which more than any other one cause, fueled the 'Revolution'.

But, what did 'equality' do when the Revolution started? You had to kill all those who were 'unequal', kings or aristocrats. Everyone had to be brought down or up to 'equality'.

So, 'equality' brought on the 'reign of terror' where some 40,000 heads were loped off, give or take a thousand here and there. But, whose countin? I guess we are all equal when we are all dead.

So, our, Americas, great 'Declaration of Independence' written by Thomas Jefferson, declares 'we hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator...." But who is Jefferson's 'Creator'? Is it the god of the Deist's? Of Nature? Of Reason? Or is it the God of the Bible? Jefferson, as was Ben Franklin, was a product of the 'enlightenment'.

I have been reading much on this time period of the French Revolution. I highly recommend Alexis De Tocqueville's book "The Ancien Regime and the Revolution". He is an excellent writer and historian. He produces in very clear and understandable sentences some profound statements.

One thing I have gathered form Tocqueville and other writers, is that equality, and socialism, and communism, come from the same root. All are supposed to be equal. But then these same writers of the 'enlightenment' were vicious enemies of Christianity. Why? Because the God of the Bible didn't present such an 'equality'.

The philosophes, the writers of the enlightenment, were anti-God and anti-Christian. They spurred on the Revolution for equality. And looked what happened. The Reign of Terror. Followed by a Dictator, Napoleon. So, how does 'equality' fit under a dictatorial rule?

Point being, men are not created equal by God.

I'm not sure about equality of the races, but it's not important. It's only important to those obsessed with hate and it's not Christian to feel that way.

Well, let's see. OK, blacks, generally speaking, are better at sports, but how is that important to us as Christians, for example?
