What type of water do you usually drink: bottled water from the store, tap water, or some other type?

We have the best tasting well water so I mostly drink that. If I want it super cold I might grab a bottle of water that we keep in the fridge. In the summer I'll fill up a pitcher to keep in the the refrigerator for cold water.

I also drink well water. It tastes great and and is much cheaper than buying bottled water.

We have city water and use a filter jug for most things. At some point I plan to install a whole-of-house filter to catch some of the crud in the water. We also occasionally drink bottled water but I prefer not to go through that much single use plastic.

We have a reverse osmosis system. It's great because I can continuously refill my water bottle throughout the day. We try not to buy bottled water because it's not as cost effective and it's better for the environment if we just bottle our own right?

When I get my plumbing rejigged I plan to create multiple water feeds. There will be one hot water feed and cold will be split into filtered and unfiltered. There's no need to filter the water for the outside taps, the toilets etc but the sinks will have drinking water. I may yet put a reverse osmosis filter in somewhere, just need to figure out how to bypass it for making coffee because RO water isn't great for coffee.

Cool. Sounds like more work than necessary. I have one filter for all the water I need to replace every few years and that's it. Although it doesn't filter fluoride *meh* and it doesn't filter chlorine but the second is easy to get rid of with a bit of time, sunlight and an open container.

Probably more than strictly necessary, it just means the one-time cost of running another PEX line to the bathroom is offset by ongoing savings in not filtering the water that literally gets flushed down the toilet. Depending on how accessible everything is I may end up saving the unfiltered water just for the outside taps.

Bottled spring water. My tap water often smells of chlorine. I don't want the added fluoride from the tap water. I looked up the analysis of bottled spring water and see fluoride but suspect natural fluoride is better for you than the waste form that is byproduct of the aluminum industry.

UK water is perfectly drinkable from the tap, so that is where we get it from

Tap water. I think it's pretty safe and the taste isn't bad. We have a whole house filter system that cleans it up more and helps the taste.

Like several communities in southern California, my city is spending a LOT of money (and tearing up all the roads) to put in "PURE WATER" (otherwise known as "toilet to tap"). When up and running, it will "recycle" waste water which will then be poured into an aquifer under the city (which also contains rain water)... that then will be further purified via a massage reverse omsemes plant and then mixed with imported water... about half of our water will be from the recycled waste water and the aquifer whereas now, 100% of it is imported (mostly from the Colorado River). All this will make us less dependent on imported water BUT more dependent on rainfall and this technology. And the cost of water will go WAY up. All this is part of a state mandate to find ways to reduce imported water. A neighboring city has a plant that uses sea water - another approach that is more socially accepted but also more expensive.
