In Jesus Christ Superstar there's a song that ends with Jesus lamenting poor Jerusalem and it contains a line that in the context is very profound. The line says "neither you Simone nor the fifty thousand, nor the Romans, nor the Jews, nor Judas nor the twelve, nor doomed Jerusalem itself understand what power is, understand what glory is, understand at all ..." I'll include the song here in this post and ask if folk here want to hazard an opinion about what the song writer had in mind (the lyrics are by Tim Rice).

Are you sure it's not Donald Trump who said that?

Coffee,

Maybe you need to ask Tim Rice.

I have a suggestion. Let us all go away, and let him have his thread all to himself.

Zechariah 4:6
So he answered and said to me:

“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.

The picture represented in the video is of the zeal around Jesus for an earthly emancipator and a military uprising. No one understood that the power of God is of love and peace. We are delivered from the oppression of the enemy of God by His love.

Colossians 1:13
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Hallelujah!

i cant stomach to watch the clips sorry .
however as the lament ,i assume , refers to the scripture

"Nevertheless I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem. "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it! "Behold, your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, 'BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!"

I cant honestly say what on earth the writer means in the lyrics ..i have to agree with others, You'd have to ask Tim Rice .
