Today I will like to unfold the second chapter of the word "UNDERSTANDING IS VITAL"

Let's take a look at the scripture below to paint out a better picture of the vitality of Understanding.

Luke 24:45
Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

How can you receive whom you do not know? Do you think an unbeliever knows the Holy Spirit? How can you know whom you do not understand?

1 John 5:20
We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Before they could receive Jesus, they must have heard about him, they understood Him by the words of the gospel, they now believed in Him.
Read Romans 10:14-17, John 1:12, John 3:16
John 4:4-42

Now that we have the Spirit of God in us, we walk in the spirit and in the light.. Therefore, we are to commit Him to teach us and make us understand the word.. If we cannot understand,* we cannot know, if we cannot know, we cannot believe. For without faith it is impossible to please God.* Romans 10:17
Hebrews 11:6

Even by Faith, we understand.

Hebrews 11:3 NIV
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Now faith comes by the word of God. Its not just by hearing,* but by understanding the word, without understanding the word is unprofitable to build faith and without faith nothing works..

You need to understand the word!

Matthew 13:18-23
“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: [19] When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. [20] The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. [21] But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. [22] The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. [23] But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Understanding is Vital to the unbelievers to know, and believe,* even to us all who already have the Spirit of God in us.

Daily, we pray for understanding of God's word through concrete* attention to the word, through preparation of our hearts and revelation by the Spirit in us.
