How refreshing! Last nights debate sans Trump!
None of the flaming, attacks. None of the "you lightweight!" "Everyone loves ME" "I like _____" "______ likes me" "Just believe ME cuz I'm ME." "Just trust ME cuz I'm me." None of the attacks on anyone who asks a question. None of the demands that HE gives people value or not. None of the running scared from young, female journalists. None of the "my way or the highway."
We actually got to hear the issues discussed. Issues seemed to matter rather than Trumps Narcissism and demands that we bow before him, trust him, believe in him, seek his approval and likes.
Now, Trump claims that he could shoot someone dead - and his poll numbers would not go down a bit (let that soak in). So he believes his running from a female journalist will not hurt him. The absence of his rather childish behaviors won't hurt him. And (here's the thing that really bothers me).... he could be right. If so, we're in big trouble.
As for the Trumpless debate itself, I saw no one rise to fill the Trump void. Cruz was the one set to benefit from this - but I don't think did. Christy (who IMO has revealed himself worthy of consideration) tried and MAY have gained something but not enough to be a serious challenger. Bush had his best debate ever but not enough to move the needle significantly. The pundants seem to give Rubio the highest marks - but then that's been the case in all of the 7 debates, and he is SLOWLY climbing - but his winning the debates doesn't seem to be moving the needed much; he's a solid third now but WAY down from Trump. Carson seems to be fading fast. No one seemed to benefit significantly from Trumps absence.
