The Jewish problem Jesus was pressing on was their lack of interest and observance to the prophets and fulfilment of prophecy, He said they kill their prophets by ignoring them.. The Spirit of Prophesy is the will of Almighty God, He changes not and has given His people the promise of the Messiah since Genesis but the Jews today are contempt on being the finisher of Jewish faith by their traditions and laws, they reject to accept Christ as the fulfilment of Law thus serve a god in their likeness. Hence why in revelation they are called the synagogue of Satan and why Jesus even calls them sons of the devil.
Also they cannot possibly complete the law as they have no Temple to offer blood sacrifice to cover their sin... thus they aren't able to keep the Law in all honesty and need to turn to their Savior Christ Jesus in acceptance of His ultimate sacrifice as promised by their prophets.

"And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy"
Revelation 19:10

Friend,

This is true for a lot of Christians, too. Christians who insist that Jesus OFFERS salvation to everyone but actually saves no one. Christians who insist that Jesus makes it POSSIBLE for all to be saved but each saves himself by his brain, decisions, choices, surrendering, loving, working - suffiently jumping through a bunch of hoops. Christians who insist Jesus opened the gate to heaven but you get yourself through it (so the reason one gets to heaven is SELF). Paul called them "Judaizers" - "Christians" who actually never left the Judaism of the First Century, the Judaism that God helps those who help themselves, the Judaism that has no need or interest in a Savior, just divine opportunity, help and patience while each saves self.

It is the testimony of Jesus, which is what He gave to the prophets. It is what inspired them and guided them and Christ used and reaffirmed the words He had given them when He came.
