I can see the ocean from my locale. Quite pretty but it is in the distance. I live about 15 km from the Indian Ocean.

I love everything about it, the smell, the moods, the seafood, all of it

we are fortunate to live close by to the coast. weather here can be quite challenging in fall/winter. but the sunsets are spectacular. our old residence was well inland. surrounded by traffic and dust and overcrowded neighborhoods.

Heh, speaking of the coast, I'm pretty close to it also.

I like where I live. Nice area. Beach is maybe 20 minutes away. In winter it's a cheap flight to NZ to do some quality skiing or snowboarding and even though the area I live in is expanding - I still pass by sheep paddocks on my way into town. Winters can get cold, but not cold enough to snow, and the summers can get extremely hot and humid - which is probably the biggest downside. I think at this point I'd take hot and humid to uncomfortable levels a few times a year to snow for 3+ months of the winter. I can get that on holiday in NZ. Living in it, ok except when you want to walk, or brave ice patches with inexperienced or cautionless drivers on the road, or digging out snow filled driveways.
