I think it was probably in my teen years, you know, those hormonal ages. My husband and I both went through a very short period of slight depression, and I think most teenagers experience it too. We got out of it and are well-adjusted now.

I lost a hiking trail in the woods and really wasn't sure how best to salvage the situation given the presence of waist-high brush and lots of very wet, ankle deep mud underfoot. It turned out the trail simply isn't marked on the ground at all, so I ended up having to maintain as constant a heading as I could in the general direction I wanted to be and look for the next trail.

I knew the next trail was no more than half a mile or so away, but it curved and I didn't know how wide a trail it was. But I also knew that if I missed it in one direction I'd eventually hit a different trail that was almost as good. What I needed to do was get to something I could follow to get back to my car.

The biggest complication was the possibility of running out of daylight. But I kept moving in the right direction, and found the next trail had a six foot tall post marking it. From there it was easy to get back. The biggest challenge was maintaining composure - it's easy to see how people panic in situations like that and just do something, anything, to move from where they are and end up making things worse for themselves. Taking a couple of minutes to stop and consider available options makes a big difference.

After I gave birth for the 3rd time and got dumped in a mental hospital. Marriage was over, kids given to him. 3 month old baby taken away from his mom. I was really lost. Doubted if God even existed anymore. He didn't answer me. They put me on medical drugs. I lived in sin. Ran off with an atheist, a fellow patient, cause he was not judgemental.
