What is the longest commute you’ve made between home/work as part of a daily job/regular working schedule?

1,5 hour, but I only have to go to the office once a week now, which is fabulous.

A bit over an hour. It got soul destroying, especially when things went wrong and I needed to stay late to resolve them. But the pay was good.

I used to drive 15 minutes to the train station, walk a long way from the parking lot to the station itself and get upstairs, then wait for the train to arrive, then it was a 45 minute ride to Chicago and THEN it was a mile walk to work. yay.

Do you ever answer your own questions? Or are you just a robot for the forum?

She's my friend who likes to start conversations here, and yes, she comes back to answer her questions when she feels like it. She's not a robot.

Perhaps it doesn't refer to 'commute', but on a construction site I was once on, workers were required to park at a ceratain place.

Meaning...we had to walk a long distance to the site.

A foreman of ours bought a device that you could clip on your pocket and it would measure the distance you walkked during the day.

The distance from where we parked to our gang box where we started work was 3/4 mile. That means we were already 1 and 1/2 mile distance at the start of the day. Because we had to walk back. And that didn't count the 8 or 10 or 12 hours in between.

Bottom line, at the end of an 8 hour day, the foreman said he walked 11 miles.

Well, that's good to know. Look forward to some 'conversations'.

Not sure it was the longest commute, but definitely the most expensive. About 45minutes and I was driving my first car, which was once my grandparent's - a great boat of a car, mostly metal and a smooth ride that also just happened to get terrible fuel mileage. .

My longest commute was 25 miles one way in good weather. One Winter, the highway only plowed one lane and that commute took me 1.5 hours to get home.
