1 Kings 5:17 And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.
Solomon determined to build the house of God and laid the foundation.
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Jesus was declared to be the sure foundation and the precious corner stone.
Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
The household of God consists of the house built from the believing remnant of Israel and the body of Christ.
2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
The household of God for the remnant of Israel was built upon the foundation of the apostles (Peter and the disciples) and the prophets in the old testament.
The household of God for the body of Christ was built upon the apostles (Paul and the apostles such as Barnabas as seen from Acts 14:14) and the prophets in the old testament that spoke of Christ.
Christ is the corner stone of each house.
Peter built Israel to reconcile the earth and Paul built the body of Christ to reconcile the heavens.
2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Both the house of Israel and the house of the body of Christ are built for a habitation of God.
