"I have a dream that my four children will grow up in a land where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
We all know the quote.... we can quote it from heart (although over half of Americans only know the sentence up to "skin" and not the "but by the content of their character.")
The DREAM is that no one will notice or care about exterior things like race, color, nationality, gender, age.... outward stuff. You know, the things the Press OBSESSES about constantly, the things Liberals OBSESS about all the time. You can't take out a loan without answering questions about race, color, ethnicity, and a host of other exterior thigns because liberal lawmakers require it. The press goes on and on about the gender and race of political candidates. I'm yet young, but it seems to me every year we move further and further away from the dream of MARTIN LUTHER King, jr.
But many Americans don't even know the rest of the sentence. Often, it's dropped in textbooks and reports. The DREAM is not.... not..... NOT that his children would not be judged! His DREAM was that they WOULD BE judged! But not by the color of their skin BUT rather.... in stead of.... in place of that.... by the content of their character! His dream was that everyone would be JUDGED.... and by their character, their morality, their integrity. Do they live according to the Ten Commandments? Does the Press, do the Liberals give a rip about that? Does our society go on and on about INTEGRITY rather than race, color, ethnicity and gender? Do the people look at the debates and ask, "Who has INTEGRITY?
How are we doing with the dream of Rev. Dr. MARTIN LUTHER King, Jr?
