American Family News: Texas governor signs HB 7, allowing lawsuits against out-of-state abortion pill distributors
Life News reports that Texas Governor Greg Abbott has signed House Bill 7 (HB 7) into law on Thursday. The law aims to protect women and their unborn children from abortion drug traffickers who illegally mail the drugs into the state. Texas Right for Life and Life News pushed for the legislation.

Steven Ertelt, editor of Life News , says 19,000 abortion pills are trafficked into Texas every single year, undermining pro-life laws that were passed to protect babies from abortion. “It [the law] basically allows Texans to file a suit against all of those companies that are selling abortion pills to Texas from out of state. There could be fines up to $100,000 in violation, and anyone can file a suit,” explains Ertelt.

He informs that anyone in the state can sue for damages, like a woman who has been injured by the abortion pill or a father whose baby was aborted. “The goal here is that, if enough lawsuits are filed, these illegal abortion companies, that are selling pills from out of state and even out of the country in some instances, might be able to be shut down," says Ertelt.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) said in a released statement that the state of Texas is "setting an example" by protecting vulnerable women and their unborn children from predatory abortion drug distributors.

Chelsey Youman is senior counsel for ADF. "Sadly, Texas leads the nation in victims of abortion-drug trafficking. HB 7 sends a clear message—stop preying on our mothers and ending the lives of their children,” states Youman.

She goes on to say that ADF is grateful for the support of Chairmen Jeff Leach and Byran Hughs, who lead the bill with compassion and courage. She also notes how Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and Speaker Dustin Burrows prioritized women and children during the special sessions. “Texas will be a safer place because of their leadership," concludes Youman.

the porn industry needs to be gutted and burned to the ground.
At the very least it needs to be redlined back into its old world of brick and mortar red-light districts for starters.

Another thing that needs to happen w/regards to porn is for prosecutors to start bringing up obscenity cases in more conservative-leaning areas so as to build up case law that can then be used to further restrict it.

Abortion is a terrible thing, but before we can eliminate it completely, the porn industry needs to be gutted and burned to the ground. Attacking abortion without attacking porn is an unbalanced, and fruitless, approach at eradication of the real issue at hand.

God bless.

The trouble with this line of thinking is that however distasteful we might find a particular product range, for as long as it is legal for adults to consume it's very difficult to restrict it. If we seek specific legislation to align with our goals we can't be surprised if another group decides to seek legislation to align with their goals.

We can certainly look to take steps to ensure people participating are doing so freely and not under duress, but legislating for situations where there is no clearly identifiable victim opens the door to all sorts of less desirable situations.

I don't dispute that some people get into the porn industry under duress. I'm just not sure that trying to put genies back into bottles is going to help anyone - if anything it would seem the most likely outcome is that we might get rid of the most obvious (and the most reputable) porn sites but the less reputable ones would simply go underground, creating more victims than would be helped by closing down the reputable sites.

It is interesting what Paul wrote to the Corinthians:

But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one.
For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?

God judges those outside.
“Purge the evil person from among you.” (1 Corinthians 5v11-13,ESV)

Only God and His Gospel can truly change a person.
Some of you might have heard of Jonathan Edwards and his famous sermon

“Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”
You can find "The Sermon That Set America on Fire The First Great Awakening" on yt,
I won't link it, but I encourage you to look it up and have a listen
