What do you consider a reliable tablet that is not real expensive? I have a nextbook and love it

I don't have a tablet and don't even know what they are. Can you type on them?

Yes, Ruth, you can type on them. A keyboard pops up on the screen and that can be used, or an aftermarket keyboard can be purchased.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 4, but I would recommend the Kindle fire, great tablet for the money, great customer service. (Some come with a Mayday button, you can connect to a live Amazon Tech advisor who can walk you through how to do anything on your device, or they can do it for you.) They will also give you a free trial of amazon prime, which is nice... :woot:

I have a first generation Kindle that I bought to use to read books. I don't feel that it is on par with a true tablet and this one is only good for reading and playing a few games, and I haven't really seen too many other tablets to give any reviews.

I've never been a fan of Kindle's, they just don't seem like you get that much bang for your buck.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and it seems good. Not as powerful as a laptop but still kind of good for media and a bit of Internet browsing. Most tablets are more media consumption devices than computers. But if you want a computer in tablet form then Microsoft's Surface 3 is reputedly very good.

Amazon Prime used to not be so much money! I've had it for years and it was great on Black Friday when I would buy cheap flash drives as gifts and didn't have to worry about having $25 before checking out. I love the 2 day shipping.

Yesterday I found out I could put a lot of music on my iPod using Prime as well so I was excited about that!

Amazon prime is good if you power shop. We buy a bunch of stuff (paper towels, tp, trash bags, diapers, etc). If you don't do a lot of shopping, it won't benefit you.

My wife and daughter both have Kindle Fires. They like them.

To convince my husband to keep Prime I showed him that they sell groceries now.

"Look! If you want a bag of Doritoes, just add it to your cart and bam, in two days you have a bag of Doritoes delivered to your house!"

I kind of like my iPad mini but that is not a low priced tablet. My husband likes his Kindle Fire

If you want a cheap tablet then get one that was released about two years ago. It will work well and will cost very little. If you have friends who are tech collectors maybe one of them has an older tablet that they'd give to you :)

Many years ago, I remembered owning and using my iPad Mini. It was truly a great portable device. I made the mistake of lending it to a friend who dropped it, and the inevitable happened. The screen cracked!

I haven't owned one since because of how expensive they are to purchase.

That friend should have bought you a new one!
