On lockdown, 7 cases and many pending..
Got a workers permit for work and back, only grocery and food pick ups, medical of course.
Local clerk gives heads up that alcohol and and tobacco are halting deliveries.. as we all know prohibition caused many problems in the past, not sure if this is legit.

Stay at home order but worded so vaguely as to make it all but useless. I think there are maybe 2 confirmed cases in my county. This morning while my wife and I were out walking a marked police car drove past, the driver waved and kept on going. They obviously aren't bothered by people walking on quiet roads. Trucks continue to come through town much as before, and general traffic is much the same as before.

Here transport operated by the Government have come to an halt. People have rely on their own vehicle or someone's help if there is an emergency. Grocery stores are open only for limited time and as of now there is no major issue.

Stay at Home order with surrounding states having travel bans as well. If you go to the state with a travel ban to work you need a work paper stating you're essential so you don't get a fine or put in jail. Here we're allowed to go to the grocery store but they really wish you could buy enough groceries for 2 weeks so you don't go out often. We can go outside to walk/exercise but keep away from other people. Gatherings are forbidden if they aren't in your household.

They really wish you could buy enough for 2 weeks at a time - are they the same people who wish people wouldn't buy more than usual?

I have elderly friends under a tighter lockdown than me. They aren't supposed to leave their home at all, but they have to get groceries. Their local stores offer delivery if you order online but it's almost impossible to get a delivery slot less than 3-4 weeks away, so it's all but useless to most people. And the grocery stores have purchase limits on just about everything so it's not even as if it's easy for a neighbor to do shopping for multiple households.

Most people are not prepared in any way for an emergency situation. My sister was thinking about this stuff last fall worrying about having enough things put away for emergency prepping and good thing she has done that! I started putting things in my basement in preparation for an upcoming surgery that probably won't happen until fall now so I was fortunate to have done that.

I think that what will happen now is the same thing that happened after the Great Depression...people will think twice about throwing away important things and will be stocked up for future emergencies.

This is very true - people assume nothing will ever go wrong and someone else will look after them. It happens at all levels - people buy stuff they don't want on credit and don't put anything by for a rainy day, corporations use spare cash to buy back stock and don't keep much aside, and governments spend like drunken sailors on shore leave and then get caught short.

The sad thing is that the people most likely to be hit hardest are the ones at the bottom of the economic pile, who may simply not have the means to put much by for an unexpected future.

For now I'm reading economic articles presenting a range of possible futures and trying to figure out whether to expect runaway inflation or a deflationary collapse. Either gets ugly, it's just that the ugliness takes different forms and it's not necessarily easy to protect against both.
