At the last judgement the most terrifying (and the most wonderful) thing that happens is that the truth is spoken. Jesus said "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops." Luke 12:1-3

Lies are at the centre of sins. Truth is the remedy.

Jesus also said this bout them Pharisees

And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

They look good on the outside but aren't all shiny and clean on the inside and I guess the lies they said about Jesus didn't brighten them up any further.
