In another thread, a member finished a post with "...Holy Mary and all the Saints preserve us". As I recall, I responded that some days it seems that this is all that's keeping this world together.

After a rather harrowing drive from one end of town to another which ended with a big truck with a lift-kit tailgating me, before passing me with a loud "HOOOOONK" (because, Lord knows, I didn't see him...), I got to where I was going and the same phrase passed my lips. Maybe out of exasperation, I don't know, but it was all I could think to say. And I waited for the 'guilt' to come for saying such a thing. But, somehow, it didn't seem wrong, but comforting.

Thoughts?

..... glad you are okay.

I DO tend to "credit" God for the blessings, protections and providence that comes my way; I think that's appropriate. Now, I'd wonder if whether God's providence is through Mary and those in heaven.... I don't specifically deny it but I'd question the certainty of that. Indeed, when God works mediately, I think to thank the PEOPLE (living folks right here on Earth) with that, drawing upon Luther's concept of "Vocatio" (see http://www.christianityhaven.com/sh...f-the-Reformation-Priesthood-of-All-Believers )

But again, bottom line: you are okay. And I agree, thanks to God are due!

Well, this is the Prayer and Devotion forum so all thoughts should NOT be debating as that's not allowed here in this forum :) I'm glad you're all right.

Thank God and Blessed Mary and all the angels and saints for your safety after such a harrowing day.
