I think society shames others and it catches on like a wave.

I think we've lost sight of a few key things.

It's OK to disagree. The fact I'm right doesn't automatically mean you are wrong, and if we have different views on what needs to be done or how best to solve a problem we don't have to hate each other because of it. Maybe we've both got something and if we pool our ideas we can find a solution that is better than what either of us has on our own.

It's OK if something is hard, and it doesn't mean we should just give up and walk away. We seem to have an idea that difficult things are, well, too difficult and we deserve an easy life. But maintaining long term relationships (whether that be friendships or marriage) takes work and if we turn and walk away as soon as someone else is a bit difficult we're not going to be able to maintain a long term relationship. Throw in the issue of struggling to accept that the other person might be right, or we might both be right but just have different opinions, and it's hardly surprising that relationships break apart.

It's good to listen to different opinions. If life becomes an echo chamber all that happens is we lose sight of an entire perspective on life. We'll learn a lot more from talking to people with different opinions and different experiences than from having an army of people who agree with us on everything.

No manners, rude, selfish, sense of entitlement, lazy, terrible drivers, oblivious to how we affect the people around us, argumentative and dysregulated, taking people, money and opportunities for granted, and broken systems that encourage all this and more, and not enough social service agencies. Mostly, we lack selfless social skills and a sense of community - crucial skills for a successful and happy life.

Or maybe I've just had a bad day.
