In a thread on Biden I brought up dementia and how Biden has the signs of it. I don't say it to be mean or to degrade the man. It's very sad when someone starts to lose his cognitive ability so when I bring it up about him I'm doing so in hopes that even though it's being denied by others that maybe they'll investigate into the disease more. There are warning signs that get missed or even rejected or excused.
Here is an article I found
Constantly misplacing her keys and cell phone.
Asking for the same information repeatedly
Avoiding social interactions.
Never getting the lay of the land.
Unexplained weight loss.
The most common signs of Dementia (Alzeimers is one form of dementia) are:
Trouble remembering things.
Mood or personality changes.
Trouble completing ordinary tasks.
Difficulty expressing thoughts.
Impaired judgment.
Disorientation.
Unusual behavior.
Not all of the above signs listed will appear immediately in patients. With my mother-in-law it was being confused and using wrong words. It got worse as time went on and we never wanted to believe she had it until we went to visit her in the assisted living care center and she noticed my wedding ring set and said, "You're engaged!" We told her we got married back in 1990. She stopped smiling and asked if she was there at the wedding. "OH YES!" We assured her. Then she perked up and asked if she enjoyed herself.
Having dementia is not something to joke about. I mean, there are some funny stories I can tell you about my friend's grandmother and she told them to me out of fondness and love for the woman. But it's heartbreaking to families to see their loved ones on the decline.
