Jesus clearly tells us that nothing that enters the body defiles the person, God tells the apostle Peter in the vision on the rooftop that He has made all food clean, and the apostle Paul mentions that there will come times when people will prohibit others from eating certain types of food.

In light of all these things, what are we to make of all the nutritional science studies of the past few centuries, many of which show that the gut microbiome is important in regulating aspects of our personality and behavior? Some recent studies even claim that transplanting fecal matter (either through the anus, or, in the form of pills, through the mouth) from healthy individuals to individuals with certain mental disorders have helped the latter improve their mental health. You can find a lot of info about the topic here: https://github.com/MaximilianKohler/HumanMicrobiome/wiki/FMT and here: https://github.com/MaximilianKohler/HumanMicrobiome/wiki . Are all these "scientific studies" nothing but demonic attempts to trick us?

I think this argument takes what Jesus said way out of context. Jesus was declaring foods clean - the sense that eating something doesn't make you ceremonially unclean any more. It's clearly absurd to take what Jesus said and regard it as meaning we can go ahead and eat deadly poisonous mushrooms.

One of The Big Ten is to respect life..... and I think that includes our own and taking good care of our own body.

Now, I watch what I eat and try to have a REASONABLY healthy diet .... vegies and salads..... limit the red meats.... keep things simple and generally unprocessed.... but I'm not a Nazi about this and it's okay to eat a big Mexican or Italian meal that blows things (just keep such rare!).

And I get my daily exercise and watch my weight (never USE to have to do this but.....). I'm 6-0 and 170 so I'm doing okay. Helps that I'm not into sweets or snacks.

Don't smoke. Wear sunscreen.

"A little wine is good for the stomach" God said - and I take Him literally. And one of God's gifts is a good quality Scotch. But I focus on quality rather than quantity.

"REASONABLE" is the word I try to keep in mind.
