I don't mean as a whole...but individually. Should we care if someone likes us?

If we are not liked it makes it considerably more difficult for people to interact with us in a meaningful way.

Everyone wants to be liked.....

But should THAT be the #1 issue in our life? Well, only if it's exclusive to God..... God approving of us is something we should seek.

My approach is if you don’t like me because of your worldly or sinful nature that’s on you but if you don’t like me because of my worldly or sinful nature that’s on me.

I think this nails it.

If we are disliked because people don't like our message then we shouldn't be surprised. Jesus told us this would happen.

If we are disliked because we are obnoxious then people are unlikely to hear our message at all.

Imo, the most effective way to spread the message of salvation on an individual level is through influence. If people don't like us, they will not accept our influence.

I also believe this on a more global level. As a collective, if we act holier than thou, judgemental, unaccepting, try to force our views on others politically, judge their right to choose their own religious and moral path, and otherwise act in ways that gives the world reason to hate us, that's on us as a collective. There are a couple of reasons we will be persecuted. One is because of the shameful way [collective] Christians treat non-believers and the other is the world's "genuine" discrimination against us because of our faith. The latter is not dependent on the former.
