Something at work the other day for some reason reminded me of the song and dance "Hokey Pokey" I learned in elementary school.
After reciting the lyrics I noticed that this was basically a witches "seance", which led me to think of other ways I was introduced to paganism through organized education.
In 4th grade we had to learn and memorize the pantheon of Greek gods and goddesses, I was even assigned a random Greek god/goddess to draw! She was a fertility goddess (Venus?) and I drew her with a snake in the forrest because the story was something about her relation to nature..
Anyway, in the south Texas they didn't really push evolution on us so much, we learned a little about dinosaurs and that was it, but what are some of the things you remember from schooling that totally infringed on your understanding of understanding Bible stories?
(I also went to Sunday school and Wednesday Catholic class growing up btw)
