It seems that today's youth like to have their "safe spaces", whether it's in school, on campus or wherever. What are your thoughts on safe spaces?

Maybe they oughta call them 'Ostrich Zones', a place where they can bury their heads in the sand and avoid dealing with the real world around them that they will eventually end up having to live in whether they want to or not.

Isn’t that what this forum is designed to be?

What are your thoughts? Seems to be a pot/kettle conversation.

If safe spaces are there to prevent their feelings from being hurt, then it seems rather silly, but if it's something that protects someone from danger or aggression, then what's wrong with it?

Don’t know where you are from, but here in the USA we have a little constitutionally protected thing called freedom of speech. There is no provision for special zones where that right is completely restricted.

I suspect if you were to go into your local Walmart and start shouting about how Walmart sucks you'd soon find yourself removed from the Walmart.

There is a difference between what rules the government is allowed to make and what rules non-government entities are allowed to make.

Why are you calling me pot/kettle when all I've done is asked a question?

I didn’t call you anything. I responded to your question, and asked you a question in turn.

Even freedom of speech within the USA has limitations and restrictions.

Which are generally applied to one segment of the public spectrum and not the others.

Ideally, a safe space should be a place where one can talk to someone about anything w/out fear or prejudice but as with a lot of things, the Left has abused it to the point where its' pretty much as toxic as the word "woke".

I was bullied in school (back in early 90s) because I appeared weak and I fought back which only quadrupled the bullying

And I figure safe spaces are good to a point, but life is very tough so you have to learn to deal with real people.
