It appears not all Catholics are faithful to their pope!

Shane Trejo writes: “Pope Francis’ war on traditional Catholics has been ramping up recently, and he castigated Catholics who believe in tradition and refuse to warp Biblical scripture to appease a godless world for creating a ‘minefield of misunderstanding and hatred’.”

Why should they be any different than the rest of the churchs? The homosexual issue has ripped the church apart. Thank God for those who will not compromise the Word of God

I sincerely wish CH had a few active Catholic participants... our discussions (especially on topics like this) are severely limited by the absence of such....

The world's one billion Catholics are BY NO MEANS monolithic; they are diverse (as is true in nearly all faith communities). The OPINIONS of Pope Francis are mostly rather mainstream (although he is often laughable at how badly he conveys it; a lot of "clean up" is required, lol). But there are those to his left and those to his right (on just about every issue there is), those who wish to "tug" the RCC in the direction they want. Those who have different views on any one of HUNDREDS of issues are going to be unhappy with this Pope (and every one before him) simply because the Big Cheese doesn't agree with them and is perhaps hindering their agenda. Politics.

As a former Catholic with LOTS of friends and family yet Catholic, I would not make TOO much of such (ever present) dissent. By and large, Catholics like the pope. They respect him much and there is a great honor for the Office. GOOD Catholics (sic) I've found tend to love and respect their denomination - even if they don't every bishop and every view in it.

Where is our friend MoreCoffee? I miss him....

I've been loosely participating in several catholic facebook groups in hopes of inviting those who are consistent in debate and conversation :)
