I have a CT scan on Thursday on my lungs. I had pneumonia back in Sept. I had a follow up CT scan a month ago and it showed some kind of spot where the pneumonia was located. The CT scan this Thursday is to look at that "spot" and see if it still there or is shrinking because it was leftover from the pneumonia. If it is still the same (or larger) I will have a biopsy.

I hopeful the spot is either residual effects of the pneumonia or scar tissue from the pneumonia. Please pray the spot is gone or reduced in my CT scan on Thursday.

That is scary! Have you had a CT scan before? I get them routinely because I had cancer of the tongue and thyroid cancer. It's a fast scan but if they have to put the dye in then it takes a few minutes to get you hooked up. Prayers for you that it's shrunk!

I have had three. Two when I was in the hospital for pneumonia and one a month ago when they found the "spot". They didn't use the contrast dye last time for some reason. Probably because they were looking at a specific kind of tissue.

Anyway, I'm of nervous about it. There is a definite struggle between the physical and spiritual. I know that I live in a fallen world in which sickness and death are a door all of us will eventually walk through. And I have faith that Christ will see me through the door and that what is on the other side is far greater than anything my limited human mind can fathom. However, I am still fearful of the pain and suffering that may take place on this journey.

I totally get that! When I was diagnosed with cancer the first time I really felt like God betrayed me but then remember He never promised me perfect health and these bodies are going to die eventually. I just don't want to suffer and I don't think you do either!

Along my journey I've seen how I can be a light for others so even though I didn't want to go through what I did...God used it for His purposes. God's blessings to you no matter the outcome of that spot.

The spot on my lung is still there. I have a PET scan next Tuesday with an appointment to get results on Thursday. If my PET scan "lights up" as the doctor put it, I'll have a biopsy. Hopefully it will be dark, very very dark.
