I made a couple of vague posts about an upcoming situation in previous prayer threads. I didn't want to post too much on a public forum until things were further along.
Some years back I posted about our foster daughter, and then went silent. The foster situation went sideways unimaginably quickly, we had to give notice to have her taken away quickly, and from there our dealings with the agency made it pretty clear that the door was closed, probably permanently.
Except that God evidently had other plans, bringing someone into our lives who progressed from being a friend, to being a good friend, to being more like a daughter than a friend. Her children were like grandchildren to us, and we were like grandparents to them.
I say "were" in the past tense because yesterday we had our hearing in the family court and God answered our long-standing, if silent, prayers and gave us a ready-made family. We legally adopted our friend, and so now we have a daughter and grandchildren.
The full story is incredibly long, but can be condensed into three words, which could either be "God is good" or "God is faithful". Either way I'll take it.
