Is poverty not the worst form of violence?
Because it happens by the exploitation of one by another even if the exploitation is accomplished without the knowledge of the one exploiting others. This is better understood from the perspective where everyone is a child of the same God but here on Earth some enjoy the exploiting others while others must sacrifice even the minimum needs for life.
Poverty is not merely the deficiency of food or money which, of course, is the basic level of poverty. At this level if people die of lack of food, starving, anywhere in the world it is also true that somewhere there is likely to be surpluses of food and the necessities of life. These two facts may be instantiated at different ends of our small world but they call for some kind of balance some sort of connection and humanity has a role to play in correcting the imbalances that lead to poverty and starvation.
There is so much and such severe violence in the world when 'poverty spirit' is active and poverty of spirit so often leads people into evil mindedness. The evil minded greedily take possession of anything from wealth and food to contentedness in one's way of life and comfortable surrounds. Yet this kind of greed leads people to become destroyers of the peace of world. (sourced from something that Gandhi said)
The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, is a grouping and classification of vices within Christian teachings. Behaviours or habits are classified under this category if they directly give birth to other immoralities. According to the standard list, they are
