Do you think that there are people who lie to God?

What about those who are stuck in sin and refuse to admit it's sin? I think those people lie to themselves as well as God.

I think we all do at one time or another. An example would be something like praying for something we want in a manner that we pray for something different in hope that we will really get what we want on the sly, or praying to a Saint hoping he will help us sneak something in on God by stealth because we are afraid to go to him directly and expose ourselves.

But that's my view, the view of someone that is far, far away from anything that would be seen as being righteous.

People can lie to themselves but not to God one moment or another the truth will seek you. You can say whatever to God but he knows you lie or telling the truth. So people can by their day and see thier own lies. But reality God's turth stay that we all sinners and we must repent.

In my opinion, I think people think they lie to God. God sees through the lies and knows the truth.

The fact someone knows the truth doesn't mean we can't lie to them. I'm sure we all lied to our parents when we were children, and at least some of the time they knew very well we were lying.

God knows we're lying but that doesn't force us to be honest with either God or with ourselves.

If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves. We don't deceive God.

That's something I've heard some people refer to as plea bargaining with God.

It actually reduces Christian prayer to a transactional thing as if he were another man or woman where an agreement is made to 'purchase' God's favors by offering him something for them (no different than attending a garage sale and making an offer trading money or something else an item you want).

I imaging its something we all do now and then without thinking about the implications of it that diminishes prayer and makes our prayers ineffective.
