These verses is in Colossians 1:9-12 and are some of my favorite. I believe this reflects the true heart of Paul and what he prayed for these believers. How many prayer meetings i have been in where prayers are sent up for physical healing, without an emphasis on spiritual understanding, knowledge and renewal.
9 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.
I think what this tells me is that part of my prayers as well should be spent praying for other believers that they would grow in things like the knowledge of His will, spiritual wisdom and understanding and that the believer would walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and to bear fruit. So many believers these days seem (at least from my perspective which is limited) fruitless lives.
Paul prayed that we would love each other more, be faithful, be fruitful and love God.
