Supposably Pope Paul VI liked modern architecture and had his audience hall built to his liking. This reminds me of how the religious renaissance paintings ordained by the Pontiff would hide subliminal symbolism in the painting (example: the angel flicking off the Pope)
The modern artwork of the resurrected Jesus baffles me as well, im sure their is an official explanation for this weird wounded headed Jesus :/
Also the hall definitely does not look like a snake whatsoever.
