A lawsuit was filed against a Chico Unified School District superintendent and some school board members, claiming a school transitioned a student's identity behind her mother's back, according to the non-profit law firm Center for American Liberty.

According to the lawsuit, the student went to a counselor, Mandi Robertson, who she had spoken with before at Sierra View Elementary School. The student said she “felt like a boy.” The lawsuit says this came after the counselor regularly raised the topic of sexuality and gender identity to students.

Yes. Parents are the parents. Not the school. I guess that may not be a good enough reason for some posters here but IMO, the school has no right to go behind the parents back and encourage this young child into “transitioning”.
