I was reading a book by Brennan Manning and he talked about being aware of the riseness and presence of Christ. What he meant by that is that as a risen Lord and Savior he is not in the tomb. And as a believer he has promised to be with us and his spirit dwells within us. So, as a believer I am never truly alone. He is always with me. Do I do my work, have conversations, love other people and live in the awareness that he is always a witness to everything I do and say?
Do I live and conduct myself as one who walks with the Lord and is aware of his presence no matter where I am or what I am doing?
One practical way this helps me is that sometimes when I pray I don't feel like explaining every little detail of a situation to God like he wasn't there. I can know that he knows the situation better than i do. If someone treated me unfairly (or if I treated someone unfairly) God is a witness to it because he was there. It also has implications that there are no secrets with God. Because he is with you he hears every idle word whether it is kind or unkind. he sees every thought and motive. We are transparent before Him.
