How often do you shop online?

Have you ever had any negative experiences while shopping online? Can you share any specific incidents?

I shop online often. Any negative experiences I have had were with a purchase on eBay where the item was totally misrepresented and when I buy clothing from retailers that I have not done business with before.

I seldom buy online if I can avoid it. Courier services in this area are usually OK but sometimes do stupid stuff like leaving parcels right beside the door with the sign saying it's not in use, in full view of the street when they could have tucked it somewhere less visible.

Usually I like to see something before I take it home, even if only to make sure it's what I'm expecting to get. Where everything is run by call centers in far-flung countries, staffed by people who don't speak very good English and are more interested in sticking to their scripts than actually fixing problems, I don't want to deal with the hassle of being sent the wrong thing.

I rather buy it here, but heavy stuff like a new bed or a washing machine I buy online, so I don't have to carry it on my bike and they take the old machine with em too and now and then something they don't sell in the nearby mall.
