Being alone when you're older; not having grandkids. Fortunately I'm blessed with both!

As with anything that's a mixed blessing you miss the good and the bad.

My wife and I like the freedom to do what we want and not have to worry about school schedules or endlessly driving kids all over the place. At the same time we miss out on seeing them grow and ticking off milestones - we don't share their excitement when they catch their first fish, perform their first recital etc.
