Most places, other than places exclusively for adults that are not mentionable in polite company, seem to be the kind of places where the issue isn't so much the presence of children as the problem of badly behaved children.
I've sat at a table next to very small children in restaurants and they haven't made a squeak. I've walked out of restaurants because people take screaming children who just won't shut up and who ruin the peace and quiet for everybody.
I must admit I'd rather see rules keeping children out of bars - it's nice to have at least some spaces that are for adults only - but overall as long as they are well behaved I don't have a huge problem with them being there.
