Speaking in the screen persona of Uncle Sol, "my existential angst is sky high".

I thought of Elijah when so-called "society" was just gangs of hoodlums. An angel brought a scone and told him to sleep some more. And then the same a second time. It didn't "solve" anything: all that happened was that Elijah (a day or so later) carried on carrying on. If things come in threes is the lesson that the angel will come again to us yet?

I suppose there are all sorts of pieces of Biblical theology that intermesh with situations like this. Why did Jesus ascend and what is the relevance of Holy Spirit gifts? How many kinds of prayer are there and how often should these be done? All with relevance to angst.

Angst isn't a medical condition, by it I mean the yawning void. Pile in with your insights please especially fellow ordinary members.

What has "free will" got to do with apologetism (the only reason people go on about it)? Why doesn't theology have anything sensible to say about constraints, contingencies and providence? What's the connection between us and providence (sensible answers only please)?

Which question do you want me to respond to? I'm confused; I guess it's my angst. :)

The connection between providence and our daily lives is basically a mystery that we need to accept because God is God, and we're not. God has plans for all of life, while we are fully responsible for our whole lives. Both are true; how they work together is the mystery, because God didn't have it explained.
